No #WriteFreely release tomorrow / this week, as we didn't make any major changes last week.
But if you run your own instance, I need your feedback for what we should include in v1.0: https://discuss.write.as/t/crucial-features-for-v1-0/229

@lesbianhacker Thanks! I was looking for something like that -- I'll give it a try.
And yes, since it doesn't have a place to put the video (or audio), those type of posts will be excluded. Maybe we'll support importing them and putting them somewhere reliable in the future.
@Satsuma I'll have to check if Tumblr gives out that information, as I'm not sure off the top of my head. But that's good to know!
I should say, text posts are pulled in right now. Still need to test quote, link, photo, etc. types.
All should be straightforward except for photo types; need to create some stable @snap_as API endpoints for that. Video won't be supported for now.
But I'll probably be able to finish this all by Monday.
Yes, a Tumblr importer *is* pretty simple with the existing integration.
Got posts pulled in, HTML converted to Markdown, tags and dates parsed, all compiled into Write.as-friendly text. Now just need to add them to the database and create a little importer UI.
Okay, undid the rename because it meant renaming all the IDs used in the app.
But the good news is that the app made it through automated submission to the #elementaryOS #AppCenter! Not sure if it'll actually work without the CLI packaged in the way they need, but we'll see!
To clear up some confusion, I've renamed the GitHub repo for our Linux app to writeas-elementary, as it's only needed on GH to build for #elementaryOS: https://github.com/writeas/writeas-elementary
The @code_as repo has the official source: https://code.as/writeas/writeas-gtk
Of course, that update being done will mean that support for all #WriteFreely instances is a few tiny modifications (and a small rebranding) away.
Depending on when it's finished, the Android app might be our first first-party WriteFreely app. Keep an eye out here for that: https://writefreely.org/apps
Lastly, development on v2.0 of the Android app (with blog / account support) is officially moving forward again. After 2 years of fighting it, I went ahead and hired someone to finish up the last bits for me.
I will be happy if this means I can retire from mobile development forever.
But at least the app will finally be up to date :)
A v1.0.1 update for the Write.as Linux app will be out today or tomorrow, which fixes some styling on recent versions of GTK and a few other small issues.
Casual dev-related updates from @write_as / @writefreely, tooted by @matt.
