You'll notice just a few minor differences between the old and new Snap.as right now. But we have a full roadmap we're building out now, and we can't wait to share those updates in the very near future!
An update on our upcoming @snap_as migration -- in short, no planned downtime, and you'll be able to kick off the update yourself starting tomorrow (Monday, October 26).
This means a much more seamless process for everyone, where your photos and https://Snap.as pages stay online, and you can choose to update your account only when you're ready.
We're finally leaving the "alpha" development stage! As part of this, we'll need to move everyone to our new infrastructure.
Previously, we mentioned this could involve some downtime. Instead, your photos and galleries will become read-only this coming Monday (Oct. 26), and then you'll simply log in and start the migration yourself.
This week we announced that @snap_as is getting ready to leave its "alpha" status: https://we.snap.as/leaving-alpha
Initially we thought this would involve some downtime for everyone. But instead of that, we'll probably let everyone simply migrate whenever they're ready.
That means everything on the "old" Snap.as will remain live, but to upload or modify anything, you'll first need to kick off a migration for your account.
Leaving Alpha https://we.snap.as/leaving-alpha
We also need fully-functional photo hosting to support people migrating to the platform, which means we need to update @snap_as.
I wrote a bit about the kind of re-architecting this required in early September: https://m.abunchtell.com/@writeas_dev/104841482469860342
We're back! More information on what happened here: https://discuss.write.as/t/snap-as-is-down/1694/3
